Moose Hunter Drop Off
Tuesday January 8th 2013
We need pilots to volunteer to take several Moose Hunters from Unalakleet to two hot moose hunting spots just north of Koyuk. This will be an all day charter starting at 0600zulu Tuesday and last drop off before 0600zulu Wedensday. This is a HUGE hunting event and Unalakleet will be packed with hunters and gear to transport to Haycock (HAY) and Granite Mountian(GSZ) airport so they can make there way up the mountain for moose hunting for a week. We will be transporting two 206s to Unalakleet from Fairbanks for the day to get these guys up there.
Flight#s: CH01 and CH02
Pilots: Please check weather before flight there and back and airport information so we dont have any problems. The two planes for these flights will only be tail#s N104K & N9996M. No credit will be given to to any other tail # for these flights so be carefull.
CAUTION: APPROACH & DEPARTURE- GRANITE MT (GSZ) USE EXTREME CAUTION DUE TO DOWNDRAFTS!
Weather: The weather at both of these airports at this time of the year changes like a girl changing her clothes before leaving the house so PLEASE do your homework on the weather before flying. After all we hire only the best pilots here at Era Virtual Airways and we trust that it will be nothing but that.
Pay: All pilots that participate will be paid a $1,000.00 bonus to there pay to help get the hunters to there drop off airport. This is open for the full day so if the plane is available then first come first fly!
RSVP via the forums please!
Good look fellas thanks for all the help and hard work and remember
KEEP THE DIRTY SIDE DOWN!
I'm in! I remember Granite Mtn. as being rather wind swept and rocky....in one of the episodes ( if my memory serves me correctly and that's often times doubtful ) they picked up some stranded hunters? How did they get stranded? Did our competition fly off and leave them? Anyway, I'm rested from the Tanana Relief flights where it was good to see other ERA pilots flying the routes. Granola bars are packed, boots are back in and so is my goofy looking hat! The one that doesn't fit over the headset and the ears flap about in the wind! Ya gotta love Jim Tweeto! See ya in the sky!!
Tuesday is a long day for me, but I think I will be able to do some flying at around 0100z.
I'll pick up any hunters that Dave left behind :P
Thanks for the congrats on the POM contest!
I'm not sure why it won't let me reply on that thread.
See you tomorrow!
No problem Diego. We will be having a lot more of these coming. As for the thread reply, I will look into why you couldn't reply. Your welcome on the POM award but its going to be tuff this month with all the hard working pilots flying there asses off lol. We will chat soon.

Cool, I just saw the Granite Mountain episode yesterday! Can't wait to fly this one myself.
Brian, We will be doing several runs like the show coming up but also we will be adding more runs that will be harder and some of the newer pilots may not be qualified to do but it will all balance out for all pilots. I have a ton of good ideas up my sleeve.

Just made it to Granite Mountain at night in some nasty weather...man that was a difficult approach! Unfortunately my VAFS is at it again and I've lost my last 3 flights, but I made sure to screenshot this one to prove I'm participating.

Brian thank you for the screen shot. You will get the credit for the flight, but it won't be listed. You still have some time I think depending on the time zone you are in to do another flight. Also, I will forward the error to the VAFS staff and see what this error may be.
