We'll be using the DHC2 Beaver for this weeks Landing Contest. Everyone should have one. We have tried to do a Float Plane Landing Contest in the past but ran into problems getting the PIREP to accept an aircraft that had no Parking Brake. This problem occurs with Kacars but can be overcome as follows:

"As for the kAcars "EraCars" there is a setting in the settings part of the menu called "Ignore PB", which stands for Ignore parking brake....disable that setting. Click save and reboot the program and you can fly any aircraft regardless of parking brake capabilities." PERFECT!!!

So now we can make some flights where our feet just might get a little wet! And, if you don't normally fly the Beaver, this is a chance, to for sure, "get your feet wet"!

ROUTES:
For this event we will fly from BARTLETTE COVE to JUNEAU Flt. Number: EW 6002 BQV - PAJN / DHC2 / PAYLOAD= 340 LBS. / FUEL= 30% 42 NM

Next will be JUNEAU to EXCURSION INLET Flt. Number: EW 6057 PAJN - EXI / DHC2 / PAYLOAD= 340 LBS. / FUEL= 30% 28 NM

Next will be EXCURSION INLET to JUNEAU Flt. Number: EW 6006 EXI - PAJN / DHC2 / PAYLOAD= 340 LBS. / FUEL= 30% 28 NM

And then it would be back to BARTLETTE COVE Flt. Number: EW 6048 PAJN - BQV / DHC2 / PAYLOAD= 340 LBS. / FUEL= 30% 42 NM

Contest begins at 0000 Hrs. your time zone SATURDAY and ends 24 hrs later at 0000 hrs. Sunday.

REMEMBER TO PLACE "LANDING CONTEST" IN THE PIREPS COMMENT BOX!! Group flights are encouraged!

Hope to see some "SOFTLY SPRAYED" landings and lot's of participation!!

Well, we picked up one additional contestant this week and had a very very close competition between RVF251, Sune Lind and RVF483 Dave Maze.
This weeks winner is RVF483, Dave, with a landing rate of -104 while returning to Bartlett Cove. RFV251, Sune, had a -105 FPM while landing at Excursion Inlet. Pretty close I'd say! Still looking for more pilots to take part but we'll keep trying each week with new routes and various aircraft!!
