Well, we have 21 mushers that have officially finish the race and there are still quite a few racers still out on the course. The last place musher, 50th. place, is currently in Unalakleet.

Our official first place finisher of a complete route is our own ERR 410 Steve McCoy! Steve actually completed the Supply legs on Mar. 5th. and then the Return legs on Mar.6th. And he did it in the 206. Nice going Steve!!

ERR 737 Brian Ritz completed the Supply legs on Mar. 7th. to earn his Iditarod badge. Nice going as well Brian!

ERR 878 Jens Weissflog completed the Supply legs in a 208 just today, Mar. 12th. Nice going Jens!!

ERR 483 Dave Maze has also completed the Supply legs in both the 206 and the 208...

Those pilots still out on the course are:

ERR735, Victor Martinez, ERR 524 Collin Shea, ERR 851 Roberto Gobbi ERR 147 Cameron

Complete the Supply legs and earn yourselves a Iditarod Finisher Badge...........

There's still time for anyone else who would like to be a part of this years world famous IDITAROD RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mush On!!!

Well, the last place finisher has made it to Nome and the race is officially over. The final time was or is 13 days 4 hours 42 mins.. We will continue thru Sunday March 23rd. to allow those of you who have not finished a couple of more days to do so. We hope those of you who partook of the event enjoyed the routes and found them just a wee bit challenging. Especially if you flew low and slow and tried to imagine what the musher were going thru. We also hope you found the topic interesting and perhaps did a little research on your own to see what this crazy race is all about. This year was wrought with danger as so much of the course was not covered in snow...that's right..Alaska has a shortage of snow this year! Many racers pulled out of the race due to course conditions. Sleds were made to run on snow not dirt and rocks! Move the course? Change the dates? Cancel the event? Not on your life said the native Alaskans! This is Alaska...not the lower 48 so mush on you huskies!!!!!!!!!
