DATE: Sunday Dec. 14, 2014
TIMES: 1900 ZULU 1200 HRS. PST / 1500 Hrs. EST / 1900 Hrs. Thailand
Repeat Time at 2300 ZULU 1600 Hrs. PST / 1900 Hrs. EST / 2300 Hrs. Thailand

DATE: Wednesday Dec. 17, 2014
Time: 0200 ZULU 1900 Hrs. PST / 2200 Hrs. EST / 0200 Hrs. Thailand

Welcome to RAVN Virtual Airways 1st. Annual Christmas Run. The Christmas Run provides much needed Christmas Gifts to those Alaskan's who live in remote locations or areas that receive little in the way of Christmas Gifts. TransMaybe Airlines was granted the contract to carry these gifts but has run into financial difficulties. So, DHEWY CHEATUM, CEO of TransMaybe, has asked RAVN CEO Bill McCutchen to step up with RAVN to fill the void.
Bill has graciously accepted and donated his pilots and the fuel to haul the Christmas Cargo. The plane of choice will be the Cessna 208 Caravan and each pilot will be carrying 2000 lbs of cargo, a pilot and a cargo handler. We will depart McKinley International Airport (PAIN) and from there we'll make 5 touch and goes, and 3 full stop landings. Our final stop will be AK32 (PAAN) Gold King Creek AF Station.

Start out with your aircraft set-up as follows:
30% Fuel
170 lb. Pilot and Passenger 2 at 170 lbs.
Cargo Pod #1 add 500 lbs. Do the same for Cargo Pods 2, 3 &4.
That will put our Gross Wt. at 7582 with a payload of 2340 lbs. Well within the max gross limits.
Radio Freq = 122.80
Comms on Teamspeak
Meet in TeamSpeak 15 min. prior to start for a briefing...

Departing PAIN we will fly South Easterly climbing just high enuf to clear the terrain as AK06, Denali is but 6 NM away. Make a touch and go on runway 12 where your cargo handler will dump the first of your gifts unceremoniously to the runway below. Continue on to 15AK Golden North Airfield, and do the same thing. Follow Hiway 3 if you like. 15AK is just over a hill and that will put you on a right base for R/W 20. After 15AK we will do a full stop at UMM, Summit Airfield, probably R/W 21. While at Summit, go into your payload and remove 500 lbs. from Cargo Pod #2. After doing so, depart as soon as possible and head for PATW, Cartwell Airport. Things are getting a bit tighter now so plan your touch and go with ample speed in mind. The strips are getting shorter with more trees. (up to 6500) Next is HRR, Healy river. Here we will do a full stop and off-load some more cargo. Off load 500 lbs. from Pod #3 and 250 lbs. from Pod #1. We will re-group while at Healy River and prepare for our final legs.
Departing Healy River we’ll climb over a small ridge and begin looking for 2Z3, Eva Creek. Eva Creek is a short runway at 900’ so beware of your speed while doing yet another touch and go cargo dump. Leaving 2Z3 we will head for 9AK, Totatlanika, which is also a short runway at 780’ so again, carry your speed and be careful. Don’t want any broken Santa toys! Now, we are going to do something a little different. Somewhere between Totalanika and Gold King Creek go into your fuel / payload menu and delete the 250 lbs. from Cargo Pod #1. This should leave you with just 500 lbs. for the families at Golden Creek. Landing at Golden Creek concludes the Christmas Run for 2014.

Below you will find the info for each “airport” that we fly into. Pay attention to the surface as well as the obstructions.
We at RAVN Virtual Airways wish you and yours the very best of the Holiday Season and may Santa bring you that new PMDG, AeroSoft, Carenado, Capt Sim, Orbix or whatever you’ve been wanting for so long!

This looks like a lot of fun! What if we aren't rated in the 208, yet?

I can do Wednesday for sure! This looks like an absolute blast. I'm gonna have to fly a few legs in the Van to shake some rust off, Show the rookies how it's done! Have been getting comfortable in the captain's chair. Time to jump back in the bush routes. And DAVE! I thought for sure this would be a Sled run!!! *Gasp* But seeing the route, the Van makes way more sense... This is going to be so much fun. See you then!

HEY DAN...this is the Season to be jolly and have some fun! Just show up in the 208 and we'll figure something out! That goes for everyone else! I'm sure Cameron and I can "massage" the PIREP to give you credit. We'll be on VATSIM, flying VFR, which needs no ATC contact unless you specifically request a flight following.

Aircraft COMMS will be 122.80 but we'll be chatting and Hooting on Teamspeak.

Should be a blast with several chances to fly it in you particular Time Zone..certainly hope so!

Thanks Daniel! The "VAN" works pretty well for this one and its good to know we have the "nod" from a man who really knows!!!

Don't worry about this, I'm pretty sure even ACARS will let you fly EVENT flights in anything that Dave selects. We'll find a way, if there isn't already, don't sweat it. Show up, and we'll make sure it's a good time.

During the days of the event, we will disable type rating in the c208 for all to use. No need to sweat it :)

Hey guys! While I was so looking forward to flying with you tonight, I cannot. Mainly because I am in a hospital room suffering from pneumonia. This would have been so fun! You guys have a great flight!
