Well all you ERA Pilots, its time to re-new the Weekly Landing Contest! For those of you that are new to our Airline its all about making the softest landing with whatever the equipment and airport(s) might be for that particular day. Usually, to level the playing field, we will assign a certain airplane, with a certain amount of cargo (weight) and fuel. As an example: PAKT - PAJN C 206 / 170 LBS. / 20%..........

You may fly this as many times as you like, on a given day, for 24 hours. The pilot posting the softest landing rate will be awarded braggin' rights for that week. And, a Badge will be placed in his or her Awards file that's located within your Profile. Each week the challenge will be different and in some cases we'll let you fly whatever you want wherever you want. We call that the "Have it Your Way" landing contest. So standby, emails will be sent out later in the week and the event details will be posted in the Forum. This is a weekly event that occurs on a Saturday in your own time zone.

This weeks contest is a loop involving 4 different airports. Its set up to begin and end at PABE, Bethel. But, you may fly any and all the legs, and, in any order that you want, as many times as you like! We'll use the 206 for this weeks contest. You up for this?!? Hope so....



So, for this event we will fly from Bethel to Akiachak. Flt. Number: ERRH6/3172A PABE - Z13 / 206 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL= 20% (110.4 LBS) 13 NM

Next will be Akiachak to Tuluksak Flt. Number: ERRH6/3172B Z13 - TLT / 206 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL= 20% (110.4 LBS) 19 NM

Next will be Tuluksak to Akiak Flt. Number: ERRH6/3172C TLT - AKI / 206 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL= 20% (110.4 LBS) 14 NM

And then it would be Akiak back to Bethel Flt. Number: ERRH6/3172D AKI - PABE / 206 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL= 20% (110.4 LBS)19 NM

Contest begins at 0000 Hrs. your time zone SATURDAY and ends 24 hrs later at 0000 hrs. Sunday.

REMEMBER TO PLACE "LANDING CONTEST" IN THE PIREPS COMMENT BOX!! Group flights are encouraged!

Well it took him a few tries and several Weekly Landing Contests but RVF683, Ken Norton, has at last won the honors with a beautiful landing at Bethel in his 206 at -28 FPM. Well done Ken! Ken had some pretty strong challenges from RVF251, Sune "Soft as Butter" Lund. Sune has won this event numerous times and is a very capable competitor! In fact, Sune shot a -32 FPM landing at Bethel as well. RVF483, Dave Maze, also took part but was never a threat with his lack luster attempts at landing.

I Don't think we had any other pilots take part but maybe next week. I'll be posting the event details later in the week so for now...Happy Landing!!
