Weekly Landing Contest May 17, 2014 Wet Feet!

Our Weekly Event began on Friday, Feb. 7th. at midnight. It was a Landing Contest where pilots flew the same aircraft, to the same airport(s), with the same weight load, the same fuel load, and attempted to record the "softest" landing rate. Each week the airport and aircraft will change. You'll have 24 hrs. to try as many times as you like. This week, to add a bit more spice, besides moving it to Saturdays, you will have the opportunity to fly a circle route to 4 seaplane bases. That's right SEAPLANES!! You can fly any number of legs that you want...flyum all or pick and choose. Longest flight is 31 mins.

So, for this weeks event we will fly from:
Port Williams to Kitoi Bay Flt. Number: EW010 / KPR - KKB / DHC-2 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL= 20%
19.5 NM Direct.

Then Kitoi Bay to Port Bailey Flt. Number: EW020 / KKB - KPY / DHC-2 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL= 20%
26.6 NM Direct

Then Port Bailey to West Point Flt. Number: EW030 / KPY / KWP / DHC-2 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL = 20%
18.6 NM Direct

Then West Point back to Port Williams Flt. Number EW040 / KWP / KPR / DHC-2 / PAYLOAD= 170 / FUEL= 30% (ADDED 10% FORTHIS LEG)
51.7 NM Direct

Contest begins at Midnight Saturday May 17th. and the contest ends at midnight May 18th. (Sunday). HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Hope to see some "greased" landings and lot's of participation!! GOOD LUCK!!

Oh, and it's CTRL W for the water rudder!

i'm afraid so Scott. But don't worry. There is a weekly landing contest every Saturday and the routes usually allow for the maximum amount of participation. You gotta start someplace so jump on the 206 flights, get some hours posted. Below is the breakdown of hours needed per eligible aircraft. Stay tuned, we have lot's of ideas for events on the back burner!

 Trainee (0.0-10hrs): C206
 Junior First Officer (10-20hrs): C206, C208, DH-2
 First Officer (20-30hrs): C206, C208, PA-31, B200, DH-2
 Senior First Officer (30-40hrs): C206, C208, PA-31, B200, B1900, DH-2
 Junior Captain (40-60hrs): C206, C208, PA-31, B200, B1900, DHC8-100, DH-2
 Captain (60-100hrs): C206, C208, PA-31, B200, B1900, DHC8-100, DH-2, C185
 Senior Captain (100 hrs+): All Era Mainline Fleet and Era Wings Fleet with no
restrictions.

Well, I'm embarrassed to say but I've done it once again! For some unknown reason (probably because I didn't double check ) The routes for this weeks landing contest were not activated. Sooooooooo, that takes care of this weeks contest. Let's just say it was over shadowed by the Around Alaska Event. Next week it'll be back to flying whatever you are qualified to fly and that way it'll be open to all. I guess its not in the cards to get wet!!!! Sorry for the confusion.
