Just a note to all Pilots that we started our Weekly Event beginning Friday, Feb. 7th. at midnight. It was a Landing Contest where pilots will flew the same aircraft, to the same airport, with the same weight load, the same fuel load, and attempted to record the "softest" landing rate. Each week the airport and aircraft will change. You'll have 24 hrs. to try as many times as you like. This week, to add a bit more spice, you will have the opportunity to fly a circle route to 4 seaplane bases. You can fly any number of legs that you want...flyum all or pick and choose. Longest flight is 31 mins.

So, for this weeks event we will fly from:
Port Williams to Kitoi Bay Flt. Number: EW010 / KPR - KKB / DHC-2 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL= 20%
19.5 NM Direct.

Then Kitoi Bay to Port Bailey Flt. Number: EW020 / KKB - KPY / DHC-2 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL= 20%
26.6 NM Direct

Then Port Bailey to West Point Flt. Number: EW030 / KPY / KWP / DHC-2 / PAYLOAD= 170 LBS. / FUEL = 20%
18.6 NM Direct

Then West Point back to Port Williams Flt. Number EW040 / KWP / KPR / DHC-2 / PAYLOAD= 170 / FUEL= 30% (ADDED 10% FORTHIS LEG)
51.7 NM Direct

ERA Events Staff

Well, it looks like a glitch in the Landing Contest. The P-Brake will not activate the KaCars PIREP so the flights cannot begin. I failed to check on that when the routes were made. I guess we'll try again next Friday with a land based aircraft. Again, sorry for the problem. BUT, IDITAROD starts tomorrow so come and fly that!!! Details are in the EVENTS section of the FORUM.

Well despite the glitch, we had a winner. Congratulations to ERR800, Pontus for his landing of -323! We must give an honorable mention to ERR227, Brian for his landing of -246...unfortunately, according to the PIREP date, it was flown on Mar. 1st. and therefor does not qualify for Friday, Feb. 26th event. This event is in its infancy and we'll work out the bugs as we go along. So, plan on it occurring every Friday! Thanks!

O.K. I found the problem...it was my computer!! P-Brake had somehow been reset to another key?????? That certainly explains a lot..at least to me!
